What is Counselling?

Counselling offers you the space and opportunity to explore a difficult experience and your thoughts and feelings about this in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment.

The Counselling sessions are confidential and the therapeutic work focuses on what you want to share and would like to achieve or gain from Counselling.

I work towards enabling you to develop your potential, feel empowered and find strategies to lead a more fulfilling life, to feel more confident and positive about the future. 

Using empathy, insight and compassion I work on developing the Therapeutic Relationship and building  trust with my clients.  My therapeutic work has been greatly influenced by Dr Frank Lake, who stated: `Accept me as I am, so that I can learn what I can become.`  I believe that feeling valued, listened to and understood can bring clarity, empowering you to develop a stronger sense of self and well-being. 

Often Counselling is useful when someone is feeling low, facing a crisis or a life change.  Having the space to explore your own thoughts and feelings, can be restorative and re-energising, it may bring a different perspective on your difficulty or facilitate change.
